Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, it’s about reclaiming what’s been buried under pain, stress, or disconnection.
I'm Monique Dean, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker, certified EMDR therapist, and BBS-approved clinical supervisor based in California. I'm also the founder of The Nurtured Space Collective, a telehealth private practice I created with one vision in mind: a space where women, particularly Black women, can come as they are and begin the journey back to themselves.
I am a client-centered, relational, and holistic therapist at heart. That means everything I do starts with you, your story, your pace, your needs. I see you as a whole person, mind, body, and spirit, and I believe that true healing touches all of who you are, not just the parts that feel broken. I believe healing happens in the context of relationship, and I take seriously the honor of being trusted with your inner world. In our work together, you can expect to feel encouraged, validated, heard, and truly seen.
My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and relationally grounded. I draw on EMDR and somatic approaches, held within a Relational-Cultural framework because healing isn't just personal, it's relational, embodied, and deeply human. Whether you're carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, relationship wounds, or the quiet exhaustion of always being strong, I'm here to walk alongside you.
I specialize in processing traumatic experiences, including relational trauma, spiritual trauma, and sexual abuse, and I hold a particular passion for the lived realities of Black women, including the ways the Strong Black Woman schema can shape how we see ourselves, connect with others, and ask for help.
At the center of everything I do is a simple, unwavering belief: you deserve a space to heal, grow, and flourish. I'd be honored to be part of that journey with you.

At the heart of this practice is a commitment to making mental health care more collaborative, inclusive, and accessible. I believe healing should not happen in isolation—and that mental wellness thrives when supported by strong community connections.
I actively partner with colleges, community organizations, and local groups to reduce barriers to care and expand access to culturally responsive services. Whether it’s through workshops, group programs, or shared initiatives, these collaborations help extend support to those who need it most.
While I primarily provide virtual therapy to ensure flexibility and reach across California, in-person sessions are also available in the Inland Empire for those seeking face-to-face care.
Together, we can create a more connected and supported path to mental wellness—for individuals, families, and communities.
